Flashback Friday

For some reason when I type the words Flashback Friday...hahahaha I think of flash dancing. And to be totally honest I don't even know what that is!! It just comes to my mind haha. Lame, I know, but you can't blame me.

So anyways! My Flashback Friday goes back 4 years to the lovely summer of 2006 when I took my first trip to Costa Rica with Teen Mania's - Global Expeditions. This would be the summer that I met the love of my life and the summer that changed me. I learned alot about myself that summer and I'll never ever forget my experiences there. It was the summer leading into my senior year of highschool.

This is my "MAG" I forgot what it stands for, but every morning and night and then on field assignments, we reported to our group and the leader. This was basically the group of girls that got to know me best. The girls that shared awesome stuff with me, great experiences!!

My "MAG" leader, Bree. She was certainly a beautiful part of my growth that summer. I love her for being such a great role model for me.

Jacob and I...a very awesome friend that I met on the trip. Being 17 and going on a trip like this, it's easy to get caught up in "liking" someone or whatever, but THIS guy was truly a friend and I loved the laughter that he brought to our whole group (unavida). He was such a Godly inspiration for me. One word..."hizzzah"

This would be the soup that was made for us our second night in the mountains. We had walked 4 miles STRAIGHT uphill like 90 degreees....impossibly - possible. Or so it felt. Cars or vans were not able to take us so we had to walk in the HOT heat and we made it to this village. We dug a well and got them drinking water. It was truly a blessing to bless.

And the last one would happen to be all of our translators except the blonde. Can you spot Jose?

My second Flashback moment is only because I couldn't find pictures of Jose and I when we first met. So here's a pic from the first time he came to visit me after my second trip to Costa Rica...we had been dating a year in these pictures. Ahhhhhh to be in love!

So there's my flashbacks!! :] Now, for today. Booooyyyyy do I have the cutest story to tell. Maia picked up the duster as I was cleaning and proceeded to walk around the room with it making a humming noise...I'm pretty sure she thinks she was vacuuming. It was sooo stinkin adorable. Anyways. Cute story. Thought you'd enjoy. On a very "not so cute" note...I did happen to capture her mid-fit. I was attempting a nice cute picture...but apparently I was asking for too much and got this instead!!

But then she decided to cooperate after some cookies, a cell phone, and brush were handed to her. Note: the cell phone is hers. It doesn't actually call or anything but she likes to dance to the ringtones.

She's totally kicked back hahahaha.

This would be the smirk I am used to seeing when she knows she has gotten into something she shouldn't have. But I can't help but silently laugh inside sometimes. My dad must have had so many of those moments with me. *cough* aside from the really bad moments...

I most definitely love this stage of sweet life. She is amazing. I love her dearly.

I have a picture, but it's still on the camera...but Jose and I made chicken alfredo pizza tonight. YUM. We didn't burn the house down :] good news. The more I do it, the more I enjoy cooking. It's so calming for me. I love it. So that was my day in a nutshell. It's very rainy here in Costa Rica...makes me lethargic. I will go out and get pictures of the city for you all, a glimpse into life here besides the tourist beaches :]

What a cutie! Love the mid-fit pictures. Both my girls do that to me a lot.
Flashback Friday is a very fun idea. Great way to look back and remember fun times!

Awesome pictures! I always dreamed of going on a trip with Teen Mania! I thought for sure I'd go to Botswana. God had other plans for me though. Great to see pics of your trip!
